Ugh, it's that time of year again!
Sep. 10th, 2007 12:58 amArgh, I totally HATE this time of year. Yup, it's crane fly season again (or daddy long legs as they are often called). I have a HUUUUUUGE phobia of crane flies, so this is my least favourite time of year. I would love this time of year were it not for them. I am more scared of them than I am of spiders (and I have a pretty big phobia of spiders too).
I saw the first crane fly in the house today, fluttering about the lamp in the hall. Totally freaked me out of course! You just know after you've seen one then they're all going to be coming soon. There's just no way to keeep them out the house either, you only have to have a door open for a second for one (or more) to fly in. And they always seem to get in, even into my bedroom somehow! Even though I NEVER open my bedroom window at this time of year, they still manage to get in there and scare the hell outta me!
I have this big old net with a VERY long handle so I can catch them in that without having to get too close to them and then put them outisde! Maybe due to the unusually wet summer we've had this year there might not be so many crane flies... on the other hand the wet weather might make them thrive more than ever. That's it, I'm going into hibernation until this season is over, wake me in time for Halloween! :P
Stay Beautiful,
Aissa.
