(A fairly short) Review for this week's Doctor Who episode. Also a blittle bit os spoilery speculation on the two finale episodes.
Well, my overall opinion was that it was a pretty good episode I thought. Nothing particularly remarkable, but entertaining nonetheless (much like the two Silurian episodes) and a lot of fun, and a lot of awesome character moments. A typically light-hearted and fun one before everything kicks off in the two final episodes!
There seems to be a running theme this year of having images of previous Doctors. This episode is, what, the fourth(?) one this series to have previous Doctors being shown. I have to say I have really fallen for Eleven, which I was starting to worry would never happen by about halfway through the series! These last few episodes (and the very first episode) have made me realise how awesome he is.
An Amy-light episode this week. I will admit I'm not very attached to Amy as a companion yet. Don't get me wrong I don't dislike her in any sense. It's just that as of yet she has failed to really grab me as previous companions have. I don't know, maybe it's down to her lack of family and friends? Anyway, this means I didn't really miss her in this episode as I did with Donna in Midnight.
I felt that the way the computer thing was defeated was kinda corny. Craig and Sophie's (previously undeclared) love was what got rid of it in the end. Very fairytale, suitable for kids maybe, not so much for old cynics like me! XD
When I say this wasn't a really remarkable episode I mean in the way of twists and stuff. Alright, there was the twist that the enemy was a TARDIS-style thing, and if it was actually a real TARDIS that would have been a huge and remarkable twist. However, sadly it wasn't, just something built to look like a TARDIS. Someone pointed out on the Doctor Who group that it looked like Eight's TARDIS from the movie, which was the first thing I thought when it was revealed in the episode.
Although there have been many things pointing towards the possibility of Time Lords being in the last episodes (from Omega, to a possible female Time Lord... Romana, the Rani?) I would love for that to be the case. I do love anything to do with Gallifrey and other Time Lords. Especially Time Lords who are awesome, as both Romana and the Rani are!
