Ok, so this is going to be a short-ish reaction post. Mostly because my head was in a different place this week (no disembodied Cyberman head puns here!) and I couldn't really concentrate much in the episode. Which, for a penultimate episode where there is a lot going on, is not a great way to watch it. I will probably re-watch it again before next week so I can take it in fully before the finale. Anyway, enough rambling an on to the episode... The Pandorica Opens.

Ok, firstly I have to say I still dislike River Song, and this episode didn't help. There are two little catchphrases of hers that are guaranteed to irk me; "Spoilers" and "hello sweetie" and after I have read earlier this week that the world's oldest words were going to be familiar ones I just knew it was going to be "hello sweetie."

So Rory was back, not in quite the way I thought he would be, in a more auton-y and corporeal-part-of Amy's-mind way, but it was still cool to see him back. Although I will have to re-watch the episode to get the full gyst of what was going on with that. The Doctor was the thing in the Pandorica, no surprise there really. The description made it pretty obvious it was going to be the Doctor, although I did suspect there might have been a double-bluff there, but there wasn't. I said to my mum while we were watching that I bet that the episode would end with the Doctor being shut into the Pandorica.

However, the one thing that did surprise me was the reason the Doctor was put in there. At the starts I just assumed all the Doctor's enemies had teamed up to trap him just to get him out the way and stop him from defeating them all the time. To find out that they did it because he caused the cracks and they sticking him in there to stop it was something else entirely! I was unsure about them having all the past baddies in it, it seemed rather too RTD-like for me, but I think Moffat pulled it off well.

So at the end of the episode Amy got shot by auton!Rory, oh noes! River got stuck in the TARDIS and it blowd up with her inside because she got stuck in the ominous date of June 26th 2010 which is where the explosion that started the cracks in the first place (I'm assumning that's the TARDIS exploding that caused it) happened - at least I think that's what happened, my mind was elsewhere at that moment, need to watch again - oh yay... *ahem* I mean oh noes! And the Doctor got locked inside the Pandorica guarded by every one of him enemies, oh noes!

The one big thing to speculate on of course is who was that voice talking about the silence? There are obvious suspects of course; Davros, the Master, Rassilon. But I can't see Moffat going down that route again. Some people have speculated for a few weeks that it could be Omega in the finale. I would be pretty alright with that, I do like Classic Who baddies coming back in, but I would also be fine with someone completely new too, which is my guess.

Well that's about all I can think of to say for now. It was pretty awesome from what I saw of it, but I really will have to re-watch it before next Saturday so I can fully understand everything before the big finale.

~ Ace.

P.S. Also, I C what U did thar, Moffat, with the Cyberman head being very similar to the spider!head alien thing from The Thing. I really should watch that movie again sometime.

I really liked the ep, although I am kind of confused too ^^ Still, it was fun and Rory came back. I actually got on with River better in this ep, I don't know if I'm just in a more tolerant mood today (I'm still kind of on the fence with her).
