Griffins and horror movies.
Jan. 17th, 2005 02:29 amWell it's been quite a quiet day today,I've spent most the day drawing, sketches and stuff but I did finish one neat pic of a griffin which is on DeviantART, I wasn't too happy with how it came out, but thought I'd post it anyway http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/14194192/
I was ging to go and see "White noise" at the cinema but was feeling quite sick so I decided to wait until tomorrow, or later today rather, I'm watching "An American Werewolf in London" now instead.
Theres a mixture of good and bad news for animals today, it's pretty depressing, there seems to always be more bad news than good. In the good news, a man was arrested for selling videos depicting animal cruelty and it's reported that many aid workers in Sri Lanka have turned vegetarian after seeing all the dead bodies from the tsunami, they all black clouds have a silver lining and although it's so hard to find one in this terrible tragedy this must be it.
In the bad news the damn government have decided not to make selling goldfish and other animals at funfairs illegal, even though they said they were going to, they don't want to seem to soft on animal cruelty apparantly, they don't seem to care that hundreds of goldfish get given away to anyone and everyone, humans that just see them as toys and then throw them away when they get bored with them *sigh*.
Also Greenland have decided to start polar bear hunting to bring in more tourists, they say they've had a lot of interest from hunters of other large animals, like elephants, they say they will let the hunters keep the skins of the animals they shoot, it's just terrible.
And lastly the American government have decided not to prosecute the KFC workers who were caught on tape brutally abusing chickens that were due to die, they were filmed, spitting tobacco in their eyes, ribbing off their beaks and pulling off their heads, throwing them against walls and stamping on them, spray painting them and doing various other attrocities to them, and the fuckwit of a judge has decided not to prosecute them because "they were chickens in a slaughterhouse" so basically what they're saying is that if an animal is due to be killed for food it's ok to torture than and cause them as much pain as possible before they die, it doesn't matter that they are sentient animals that feel fear and pain.
Well that's my rant for today over with, I guess I should have done the bad news first and then the good news to end on a possitive note, but nevermind, I'll do that next time, I'm off to play isketch,
Stay Beautiful,
Aissa.
